Passwords and management keys
Recipient access and sender authority solve different problems.
Security basicsSender and recipient6 min
Recipient password
A recipient password is optional and protects opening. It can be shared with intended recipients through a separate trusted channel.
Management key
A management key is generated for the sender and authorises sensitive lifecycle actions. It should never be sent to recipients or included in delivery email.
Why the separation matters
A recipient can receive the content without gaining authority to extend its lifetime or delete it. A sender can manage the package without creating an account.
